Overview

If you find the 14-inch form factor too cramped for your gaming pleasure, the Blade 16 is the ultimate expression of the 16-inch laptop. It's too expensive, as Razer machines always are, but the combination of stunning OLED screen and impeccable build quality make it the money-no-object option for me.

The Razer Blade 16 (2024) has long been one of our favorite gaming laptops and this year’s model takes things up a notch with a beautiful, 240Hz OLED display. Graphics options remain mostly the same but the processor has gotten an upgrade too.

The Razer Blade 16 (2024) is an undeniably impressive gaming laptop despite being more of an iteration instead of an innovation over last year’s model. The bump up to the 14th Gen i9 CPU combined with the leading RTX 4090M yields incredible gaming performance, however, it comes at the cost of battery life and high core temperatures when gaming. The machine gets as warm as 90 degrees under moderate loads and that means this model is best served on a desk as a dedicated gaming PC replacement.

If the Razer 16 suits your workflow and budget and you can live with its instability in Lightroom, it is a pretty machine with an excellent display, and one could see the case for it. But ultimately, a user will need to really value the machine’s appearance, good assortment of ports, and its stellar screen to justify the purchase.
