The Best Gaming Monitors: 4K, 1440p, High-Refresh, Ultrawide, 1080p

I kinda hate how these price recommendations are never relevant in like 90% of the world (not limited to Techspot, but also all other tech sites and YT).

The Alienware 34 inch oled is very nice at $700-800 but in fact it's still $1400 in my country, and usually that price will probably stay for the next 3 years. It sucks.

I find it strange that you don't mention the other advantage of WOLED:
Its blacks stay black as ambient light increases. QD-OLED gets raised black level. Yes, QD owners will claim it's not much of a problem, but it does exist.

I feel that more vibrant colors of a QD-OLED justify the ambient black level "issues" especially if you play in a dark room. Doesn't even have to be a dark room. WOLEDS have their own problems, too. Like sharpness and text.

Really, no display tech is perfect. Maybe mLED, but that's not here yet. Either way, find one that makes you happy, enjoy it and don't let anyone stop you from enjoying it regardless of whatever flaws it has.

Tempting deals this week on QD-OLEDs... many models are discounted by $200–$300, except for the MSI model, which is already priced around $900. I’m seriously considering taking the plunge, especially since these displays can double as productivity monitors with a significantly reduced risk of burn-in compared to previous generations. Big thanks to Tim for the stress-testing series—it’s been incredibly helpful.

There is an unsatisfied market I think in the budget (small) curved ultrawide, even for cheap VA screens. I only have seen available alt brands there like Sceptre and Viotek, and gaming wise for the majority it could be a big thing moving on from the wide fhd that is something from literally 15 years ago.

There is no mention of the Philips Evnia models in the Ultrawide section, but they seem to be the best budget options for an ultrawide QD-OLED in my region, 34M2C6500 for $610 or 34M2C8600 for $660, while any other model from the list above starts from $830.

I actually see a couple of 4k OLED displays for 1k which is a much more tempting deal than 2k OLED for 700-900

I would wait until they fix the screen burn issue on the OLED's before jumping that direction. I have a lovely old LG 65" OLED Tv here with the Fortnight Start button amongst other bits that my daughter managed to add.

Unfortunately, I would not be buying any monitor unless it was 38" or wider...!

After all these years, I have learned that you do not stare at your GPU, or your case, or mouse, but everyday all day you stare at your monitor. It's not a luxury if it's in your face.

She made a Fortnight Limited Edition version (1 of 1 made)!
