Amazon Kindle Scribe - 2024

The Scribe only makes sense for anyone locked into the Amazon universe who wants a digital notebook and constant access to their existing Kindle library. For me, as someone who fits into that category, it's tough to beat the continuity Amazon offers. It's super convenient to be able to pull up my notebooks and checklists from the Scribe on my Kindle app or access my Kindle ebooks on any device.

That's my way of saying that while the price for the Kindle Scribe (2024) is pretty darn steep, one can rationalize paying that much for it if you're in the market for a jumbo E Ink e-reader that's a capable (although not exceptional) note-taking device.

The Kindle Scribe 2024 improves upon its predecessor, delivering a more comfortable writing and doodling experience thanks to an upgraded stylus, redesigned chassis, and new AI features. But the price is so high that it's basically as much as an iPad now, and in that price range there are more impressive alternatives.

The Amazon Kindle Scribe (2024) could have been a simple update that got everything right, but Amazon added AI features and… they’re good?! Kindle AI brings better handwriting recognition and note summaries, nothing untoward, and it makes the Kindle Scribe an even more competitive writing tablet, on top of being the best big e-reader you can buy.
