Sigh. once again, no one in america (including mr trump) really understands how a tariff is used or what it is. a tariff is a TAX .... on incoming goods. plain and simple.
now! it is MEANT to persuade consumers to not buy from one country and buy from their own. so: don't buy these goods from China, but from the US.
china product = 1$
US product = 2$
= buy china
china product + tariff = 2.75$
US product = 2$
= buy US
the PROBLEM with this is....most of these goods that are being taxed are ONLY made in China!!!!!!! IF they were made in the US, we could have that options, but these MORONS are taxing the ONLY option.
THAT is how a tariff works...and it did work.... a looooong time ago when america DID make more items here....but we don't anymore....so its simply just a tax....which everyone TRIED to tell people during the campaigns and NO ONE listened.
